What happened when a clinic DIY’d their team photos

A passionate wellness team recently decided to take matters into their own hands. They wanted new team photos, but didn’t want to spend time or money on a professional shoot.

So, they gave it a go during their lunch break.

Armed with a borrowed camera, they used their break room wall as a backdrop and relied on natural light from a nearby window. Sounds resourceful, right?

Unfortunately, the results told a different story:

⛔ Shadows cast across faces

😬 Tight, uncomfortable smiles

🤷♀️ A vibe that felt more like “passport photo” than “trusted care team”

They didn’t feel proud of the photos, and they definitely didn’t want them online representing their practice.

Luckily, they reached out, and we booked a series of quick remote team shoots.

✅ In only 10-15 minutes per session at a time that was convenient to each team member, they had images that felt warm, inviting, and most importantly, true to who they are.

✅ They were finally excited to update their website, social media, and email signatures.

✅ The whole team felt confident and seen.

Here are two things this experience reminded them (and us):

Tip #1: Good natural light beats harsh fluorescents every single time.

Tip #2: Your photos should feel like a welcome, not a mugshot.

If you’re not loving your current team photos, or if you’re not sure what kind of message they’re sending, I’d be happy to take a look.
